For now, the entire thing looks a lot like the Souls games

Bloodborne is From Software's just-announced next project, a PlayStation 4 exclusive action role-playing game that seems to be designed in the same vein as the Souls games.

A minute of gameplay footage has emerged on the Internet, and NeoGAF has been quick to capture it, a video recorded off-screen from the demo showed at this year's edition of the E3 gaming convention.

The vid offers a short glimpse of the upcoming title in its current early stage of development, showing the way it's different from previous Souls games.

The protagonist looks like a cross between Van Helsing and Jack the Ripper, clad in a long coat and wearing a Robin Hood-type hat with dragon wings, walking around a murky Victorian urban setting, slashing away at various types of monstrous enemies.

Bloodborne will have no shields, so the combat is geared more toward dual-wielding action, as the video highlights. There will also be ranged weapons, in the form of guns.

Although the game is said to be very difficult, with battles always feeling like a life and death struggle, the video doesn't show any of it.

Bloodborne will be released sometime during 2015, exclusively on Sony's next-gen console, the PlayStation 4.
