Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 developer Treyarch is advising its multiplayer community to be careful when playing with new gamers over the Christmas period and make them feel welcomed in order to increase the overall popularity of the game.

The first-person shooter sees an increase in players over the winter holidays as many gamers open up presents that contain copies of Call of Duty series.

The more important advice is dispensed to new players, with the announcement saying: “If you are a Christmas Noob yourself, don't be bullied. In the Combat Training category you'll find a great playlist called Boot Camp. This is the best place for a player to get up to speed on the game and all it has to offer.”

Despite being the biggest game of the year, the community is known as rather unfriendly.
