More than 132,000 votes have been cast in order to decide which is the best mod of 2012 and the organizers say that a small number of dedicated fans have made the difference between Black Mesa and Day Z, which created an undead survival experience for ArmA II.

Misery has picked up the Editor’s Choice Best Overall award from ModDB.

Looking forward to 2013, the website also acknowledged STALKER – Lost Alpha with the Player’s Choice Best Upcoming mod award.

In 2013, we might see more mods gain recognition as their developers create standalone versions that have the potential for becoming indie hits.
