Brian Tyler can also pick up the Composer of the Year prize

The Film Music Critics Association announces that it has nominated five video games for its special video game focused award for soundtrack design, which will be offered on February 20.

The list includes, according to the official site:

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag - Ubisoft, composer Brian Tyler Beyond: Two Souls - Quantic Dream, composer Lorne Balfe Company of Heroes - by Relic Entertainment, composer Cris Velasco Puppeteer - SCE Japan Studio, composer Patrick Doyle Remember Me - Dontnod, composer Olivier Deriviere

The music creator for Assassin's Creed IV is also nominated for the Composer of the Year award for his work on Iron Man 3, which is a good sign that he is also the favorite for the video game award.

Best Original Score for a Video Game has been previously won by Journey and Austin Wintory and by Ni No Kuni and Joe Hisaishi.
