Bethesda has confirmed that it's investigating the recent Fallout 4 teaser website TheSurvivor2299, as it doesn't want such events to happen again because fans only get disappointed due to the elaborate hoaxes.

Fallout 4 rumors started picking up Steam at the beginning of the year, but only recently did they gain traction, as a teaser website started transmitting Morse code messages that seemed to pertain to the Fallout universe and the next installment in the RPG series.

It turned out that the whole website was a hoax, despite bearing the Vault-Tec logo, a registered trademark of Bethesda.

Now, the studio has confirmed on Twitter that it's investigating the creator of the website as it doesn't want such a thing to ever happen again.

Many fans were left disappointed with the lack of Fallout 4 announcements, and this whole stunt certainly damaged the game's future popularity, even if Bethesda had nothing to do with it.
