After dashing the dreams of fans about Skyrim on the PS4 or Xbox One, Bethesda has also revealed that the surprise announcement planned for January 12 is just another hoax, perpetrated by someone who wanted to trick its users.

Earlier today, Bethesda's website showed Skyrim with a listing for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, besides the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360. Another image appeared, indicating that Bethesda would make a surprise announcement on January 12.

Now, after attributing the next-gen Skyrim listing to an error with the company's website, Bethesda's Pete Hines has also confirmed on Twitter that there will be no surprise reveal on January 12.

According to Hines, the image and the announcement are just a hoax perpetrated by someone else who just wanted to toy with the emotions of its loyal fans.
