Video game developer PopCap Games and toy company Hasbro are now working together in order to create a new board game based on the Bejeweled series, which will allow fans to enjoy the unique experience of the game face to face.

There are two games set to be launched by the two companies during the spring of 2013.

The core Bejeweled game will task players with matching three tiles in order to eliminate them, while the Frenzy variant will ask players to stack cards as quickly as possible.

Brennan Townley, the director of brand licensing at PopCap, stated when the announcement was made, “Hasbro shares PopCap's vision and commitment to high quality and endlessly enjoyable game play. We're thrilled to work with Hasbro to create unique game experiences around PopCap's intellectual properties that expand our brands in authentic, meaningful ways.”

At the moment, PopCap is working on new mobile and social games for Electronic Arts.
