Western release window is still 2014, making it unclear whether there will be a delay

Following Nintendo's recent financial report, the company has also released some information pertaining to the release dates or windows of some of its more important upcoming titles.

As the company has already accustomed us, information on the biggest franchise names is being withheld, but there still are a couple of interesting Wii U games that seems to have their dates set in stone.

The most important piece of info by far is Platinum Games' Bayonetta 2, slated for Japanese release sometime this summer, which narrows its release window down from the previous "2014" that transpired in January's report.

The game's release in the west has not been pinned down in any way yet, North America and Europe still having the entire year as a window, making it unclear whether the localization of the hi-octane hack-and-slash game will delay Platinum Games' sequel or whether it will drop at the same time as its Japanese counterpart.

As opposed to its predecessor, who found a home on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U exclusive game, the result of a deal struck between Nintendo and Sega, the franchise owners.

Nintendo's console has been struggling against the fierce competition in the console market, and if Bayonetta 2 turns out to be a solid title, it might help the Wii U gain some much-needed traction.
