Bayonetta 2 has received a batch of new screenshots, showing off the upcoming hack and slash game for the Nintendo Wii U in all its glory, as well as confirming that the lovely protagonist will also get to wear a costume modeled after Nintendo's iconic Star Fox series.

Bayonetta appeared quite a few years ago and impressed with its fast-paced hack and slash mechanics, not to mention the extremely outlandish premise, the tight controls, and the attractive female protagonist.

However, it seems that the original game didn't live up to the expectations of publisher Sega, meaning developer Platinum wasn't able to make a sequel.

Fortunately, Nintendo swooped in and gave Platinum a chance to make Bayonetta 2 a Wii U exclusive experience.

The deal was made and now Bayonetta 2 is set to be released this fall for Nintendo's platform.

A series of screenshots have just been made available, via AGB, showing off Bayonetta in action, as she goes up against all sorts of menacing monsters and other dangers. What's more, a special shot of her wearing a costumer modeled after Nintendo's Star Fox franchise, has also been made available, further adding to her expanded wardrobe in the upcoming sequel.

Look forward to hearing more about Bayonetta 2 as we get closer to its release this month, in Japan, and in October for North America or Europe.
