DICE wants to custom make DLC to address specific concerns

Craig Mcleod, a producer on the Battlefield series at developer DICE, believes that the Battlefield series is setting the gold standard when it comes to adding value to an already existing video game via services like Battlelog and the approach it has taken to DLC.

The developer tells The Official Xbox Magazine that “now we can see some of our competitors introducing not just new maps but also new weapons, and new features on the side. And I feel we’re forcing the industry to step up and follow the example that we’re setting.”

Mcleod was referring to the Call of Duty series from Activision, which has recently received the first big DLC pack, called Revolution, for Black Ops 2.

At the moment, DICE is working on Battlefield 4, which is only being demoed to Electronic Arts partners behind closed doors.
