Visceral Games has confirmed that, while it's leading the overall development of Battlefield Hardline across all of its platforms, it's actually developing it for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, while another team within Electronic Arts is bringing it to the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Battlefield Hardline was revealed to the world last month and, since then, publisher Electronic Arts and developer Visceral Games have offered a wide variety of details and info about the new first-person shooter that focuses on the conflict between cops and criminals.

The game was confirmed for an October 21 release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, but in a new talk with MP1st, Visceral Games has confirmed that it's handling the development duties only on the PC and the new consoles, i.e. PS4 and Xbox One.

For the last-gen devices, PS3 and Xbox 360, another team within publisher Electronic Arts is handling the porting process.

A similar strategy was used for Titanfall recently, as Respawn Entertainment led development on PC and Xbox One, while Bluepoint Games was responsible for the Xbox 360 edition.

Last year, developer DICE brought Battlefield 4 across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One all by itself and the result was a severely glitched experience that tarnished the franchise's reputation, so let's hope this new strategy with Hardline pays off.
