The open beta period for Battlefield: Hardline has been confirmed as coming from February 3 to 8 but the development team at Visceral Games is not yet willing to confirm the specifications for the PC version of the shooter, despite many requests from the community.

The official Twitter account of the studio explains that all those who can run Battlefield 4 smoothly will be able to do the same with the new title, because the core engine is the same.

Presumably, the company is still tweaking the final version of Hardline at the moment and will offer a list of minimum and recommended hardware closer to the March 17 launch.

The open beta for the new title will also be offered on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and last-gen consoles.

Visceral Games has also posted a video in which the developers debunk the idea that those who manage to reach level 150 in the Battlefield: Hardline beta will be given a free copy of the full game.

The team does say that there are plans to ship cookies to those who manage the achievement without using any kind of cheat or exploit.

Battlefield: Hardline will get some final tweaks based on the data gathered during the open beta.
