Battlefield Hardline has just received a brand new gameplay video showing some intense scenes from the upcoming first-person shooter, as well as an October 21 release date for the new title and a set of screenshots.

Battlefield Hardline is the next and most ambitious iteration in the series, as developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts want to deliver a classic Battlefield experience based on the war on crime, focusing on cops vs. criminals instead of traditional military warfare, like in previous games in the series.

After seeing quite a lot of leaked footage with the game, a brand new official trailer has been released by EA and Visceral, showing some short but sweet gameplay from the upcoming title, with lots of explosive moments and intense confrontations between the police and the criminals they'll be taking down throughout the story.

Besides the brand new sequences with the game, the video also confirms an October 21 release date for the new first-person shooter, establishing the title in the now-traditional late October slot for the series and a few weeks before the November 4 release date of its main rival, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

A series of screenshots showing some more action from the game is also available below.

Expect to see more of Battlefield Hardline at E3 2014 next week, during EA's June 9 press conference.
