Electronic Arts detailed just why it had decided to launch the Second Assault DLC for Battlefield 4 first on the Xbox One platform and then on other devices like PC, PS3, PS4, or Xbox 360.

The company just wants to reward the loyal community.

Battlefield 4 is scheduled to appear in October and the two companies behind it, DICE and Electronic Arts, confirmed that not one, but two different DLC packs will be made available for the title, in the form of China Rising, which is a pre-order bonus, and Second Assault, which arrives first on Xbox One.

According to EA, who talked with DualShockers, the timed exclusivity deal with the Xbox One was made not just to ensure a great partnership with Microsoft, but also to reward the loyal Xbox community that embraced all Battlefield 3 content.

EA had a similar deal with Sony for Battlefield 3, which saw all DLC appear first on the PS3 and then on PC or Xbox 360.
