J. Paul Raines, the chief executive officer at GameStop, confirms that Battlefield 4 exists and is apparently in playable state, which might mean that the game could be launched as soon as the fall of this year.

In a Twitter message on the official account of the retail chain, the executive states, “Got to see Battlefield 4 today and all I can say is wow. Thanks EA for the sneak peek. Can’t wait for you all to see it.”

Publisher Electronic Arts re-tweeted the message, which suggests that it might be ready for a public reveal in the coming weeks.

A recent financial report announced that both FIFA and Battlefield were in development for the next generation of home consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

The new Battlefield will probably deliver enhanced graphics, while also expanding the multiplayer modes available to gamers.
