Battlefield 4, the upcoming first-person shooter from DICE and EA, won't support the transfer of save game files or multiplayer stats from one console generation, i.e. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, to another, i.e. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Battlefield 4 is set to be a cross-generation game, as it will appear at the end of October for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and later this year for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Until then, developer DICE has revealed a rather interesting detail on Twitter, confirming that those who own the game on the PS3 or Xbox 360 won't be able to transfer their save game files or multiplayer progress onto other consoles, like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

According to DICE, each platform is treated like a separate career center, just like with Battlefield 3.
