The development team working on the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins is using the San Diego Comic Con panel to reveal a new enemy for the Dark Knight, the snake-like Copperhead.

The studio is being inspired by the new 52 continuity from DC Comics, which means that the assassin is now a woman with impressive combat moves.

Apparently, the motion capture process required the use of the three distinct actors, including a performer from Cirque du Soleil and a martial artist.

The studio says, "A new assassin has been revealed... the deadly Copperhead! This incredibly agile and serpentine assassin is unlike any enemy Batman has faced before."

Batman: Arkham Origins will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 3, the Wii U and the Xbox 360 in October.

On the Vita, Warner Bros is delivering a spin-off called Blackgate.
