Publisher Warner Bros. and developer Rocksteady Studios have released a brand new trailer showing off some of the exciting features of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight.

The action-adventure video game will offer the thrilling conclusion to the Arkham trilogy, enabling players to step into the shoes of Batman once more, in order to face some of the most challenging scenarios ever.

The storyline follows the confrontation between Batman and Scarecrow, who has returned to unite all of the Dark Knight's enemies in order to take the vigilante out for good. A new enemy, the Arkham Knight, commanding an impressive army of goons, has taken Gotham by siege, and it's up to you to stop him before it's too late.

The game is already pretty exciting due to the fact that it will mark the debut of the famed Batmobile, but it seems that Rocksteady Studios is really aiming to impress with this one.

The latest video showcases the new dual-play mechanic, allowing players to switch between the Bat and his most trusted allies, Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing, during combat, and to perform various daring combination moves.

The feature sounds like a pretty interesting alternative to a full-on cooperative game, but it will most likely be entirely optional, as many players really enjoy playing as Batman in the games and would settle for nothing less.

Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for release on June 23, headed to Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
