Assassin’s Creed III, the upcoming adventure game from Ubisoft, might have a special cooperative multiplayer mode, in addition to the competitive one, at least according to the game’s listing on the Xbox.com website.

Without a doubt, one of the biggest announcements of the last few days is Assassin’s Creed III, the next installment in Ubisoft’s popular action adventure series. While the company shared plenty of details recently, we don’t know anything about the multiplayer.

Thankfully, the game’s listing on the Xbox.com website, pictured above, confirms that the same competitive online mode we saw in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Revelations returns, supporting between 2 to 8 players.

What’s interesting, according to the game’s page, is that a cooperative online mode is present in Assassin’s Creed 3, with support for anywhere between 2 to 4 players.

The listing has since been modified, as it now mentions just the regular multiplayer, but it seems that Ubisoft may be preparing a special surprise for fans of the series with the upcoming game.

Expect to hear more about Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer modes before its launch at the end of October.
