Video game publisher Ubisoft has revealed that it will spend more than 6.5 million dollars (4.97 million Euro) on marketing in order to support the launch of Assassin’s Creed III and will attempt to take the game to the number one spot in the Christmas sales charts.

Matt Benson, who is the senior brand manager in charge of Assassin’s Creed, has told MCV that, “Assassin’s Creed 3 is the culmination of three years’ hard work from a team which is at the top of its game.”

He added, “Our spend is in excess of £4m across marketing and trade activity, which is the largest amount we have ever committed for an Assassin’s Creed campaign.”

Assassin’s Creed III will first be launched on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on October 30 in North America and one day later in Europe.

A PC version of the game will be offered about three weeks later and the game will also be available on the Wii U when it is launched.
