A separate Assassin's Creed game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is still possible, as Ubisoft isn't ruling out the launch of a different title in the series this fall alongside Assassin's Creed Unity for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Last year's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag delivered a great experience across all sorts of platforms, including the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and even Wii U.

However, with this year's iteration in the series, in the form of Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft has made it clear that it will appear only for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Rumors of a separate installment for PS3 and Xbox 360 have floated around the web alongside the name of Assassin's Creed Comet, but Ubisoft declined to comment at that time.

Now, during the latest financial earnings call, studio boss Yves Guillemot left the door open for a PS3 and Xbox 360 game in the Assassin's Creed series.

"Assassin's Creed Unity will be released this fall on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. We have not disclosed our plan yet for the Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs," Guillemot said, via Polygon. "We have made it clear that as a company we expect to continue supporting those consoles for the foreseeable future."

It's possible that Ubisoft will reveal the game at E3 2014 next month, but nothing is certain.
