The development team at Harmonix is announcing that it will include Team Play to the multiplayer side of the upcoming Amplitude and that the mode will open up a range of new possible experiences for those who pick up the reboot on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3.

An official PS Blog announcement explains that the idea was created by audio lead Pete Maguire and that the concept will allow them to create a mix of casual and hardcore experiences which will be fun in both party and competition situations.

Harmonix states, "I think that we’re on the right track now that we have both the classic Free-For-All Multiplayer mode and the new Team Play mode. Time will tell, but we have a couple of months to really suss it out, playtest the crap out of it, and get some great feedback from fans."

Gamers who are going to PAX East will be able to engage with the new Team Play experience for Amplitude.

The new title is a reboot of the classic experience from Harmonix and was initially funded using crowdfunding from Kickstarter.

At the moment, the team is planning to launch the new title before the end of the year.
