After appearing for the Nintendo Wii U, the Amazon Instant Video application is now available for download onto the regular Wii home console in North America.

While Nintendo is currently focusing on the Wii U and trying to get people interested in it, the company hasn't forgotten about the regular Wii, which received a price cut last year.

As such, Amazon has just confirmed, via its website, that a dedicated application for the Amazon Instant Video service is now available for the old Wii, via the Wii Shop Channel.

The application is necessary for those with Amazon accounts that want to enjoy their Instant Video titles by using the Wii.

As of yet, the app is only available in North America and there's no word on when or whether it's going to be released in other regions.
