Gearbox Software has just released a brand new patch for Aliens: Colonial Marines, taking the game up to version 1.2.0 and adding a variety of improvements in terms of visuals.

It also brings support for screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO) and the Reconnaissance DLC pack.

Aliens: Colonial Marines caused a huge controversy back in February when it first appeared for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms, due to its low quality.

Many updates and hotfixes were released for the game by developer Gearbox, and now a fresh patch has appeared that brings "various visual improvements, including new screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO) functionality."

The new update, which can now be downloaded via the Steam service for the PC edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines, also brings compatibility for the Reconnaissance Pack multiplayer DLC.
