Barely had Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 been released when a report already surfaced about next year’s Call of Duty game, saying that it takes place in the Modern Warfare universe.

Activision’s yearly Call of Duty games are continuing to rake in lots of money and you can bet that next year’s title is already well into development.

According to a source of website Siliconera, voice recording has already begun in Los Angeles on the next game in the series.

The source confirms that the title will still take place in the Modern Warfare universe, which was developed by the franchise’s original creator – Infinity Ward.

The main character will be a “battle hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view.” Players will also experience a few flashback missions that will feature Modern Warfare star Soap MacTavish.

No other details are known as of yet, but you can expect a full reveal of the next Call of Duty in the beginning of 2013.
